The 1000 issue of Rolling Stone Magazine is out (just came in the post yesterday) and besides the amazing 3D cover (1,000 top icons from the 60's to 2006) there's plenty of new stuff in this issue for Stones fans: Mick and Keith talk about -

Their 1975 cover taken by Annie Leibovitz at Montauk, Long Island, NY as they were rehearsing for the '75 tour (also has a great repo of that cover photo)

The 1981 "Keith Cleans Up" cover - another Annie Leibovitzs shot

"Behind the Masks" the 1994 cover taken by the great Dutch born photographer Anton Corbijn (has done loads of U2's most famous shots/covers/video's) with Mick and Charlie wearing masks and Keith in a top hat with feathers (Keith liked the rented hat so much he bought it). A lot of talk how freaked out Mick was that they were shooting outside without Studio Lighting...interesting insights abound....

A full page (with cover repro) of the "Jagger Remembers" interview with Jann Wenner in 1995. The longest interview Jagger's ever done. Great tidbits about how it came about, what was said, etc....

On top of the Stones there's pages full of the most important events in rock in the last almost 40 years - The nude "Lennon laying with Yoko" photo taken by Leibovitz just hours before Lennon was killed, The Death of Kurt Cobain, Hendrix, Focus on a few of the important Dylan Interviews, Altamont, Springsteen, Morrison, Beatles break up, Lennons famous interview "Lennon Remembers", on and on and on, like a great book, you gotta get this A.S.A.P.....

It's great to hear the people involved in all of these events, interviews, and photo sessions talk about them today, in 2006. The cover is AMAZING but I only have one complaint: One Thousand of the top people (mainly Musicians) that shaped Rock 'n' Roll/American - World Culture in the late 60's/70's/80's/90's/00's and NO JIMMY PAGE !?!? Come on, not right AT ALL.........(yes, Robert Plant made the cover)....

You Lucky Dude, where are you staying? and how long?

3 weeks - was planning on going to Brusells and Paris #1 shows but that's looking unlikely. I'm staying in the 15th -- the folks live there.

I enjoy it a lot here - it is like a village compared to other big cities, but that's part of it's flair. Very relaxed and comfortable to live here, I think - with the possibilities of a big city. Sometimes I miss the special "buzz" of a city like London, Paris or Barcelona though.

Yeah, it's very calm but that's one of the great things about it...Village feeling is a good way of putting it...You can always go to Roma for some chaos - lol (I like Rome too, just not THAT much)
