"Gn'R" to Open

Opinions on "Axl n' Roses" opening for the Stones in Germany?

the Rumor Mill has the possibility of a reunion w/ Izzy & Slash....if that turns out to be true, you are some lucky f*ckers.....I get the Black Eyed Peas and some lame acts I've never heard of....

All ranting, raving, and general opinionated blabbering welcome on the topic....

That would be awesome if it were true. I got the BEP's also, but missed them each time.

Izzy alone is worth the show then. I like him a lot.

I don't buy it. I'd really think it would be dumb of Slash to join that idiot Axl again.

I like Izzy too. I never got to see him play.

They should just leave Axl at home. The guy is a world class moron.

Izzy is sweet..."Izzy & the JuJu Hounds" & "117 Degrees" are worth buying...

correction to my earlier post, CindyC....you "missed" hanging out w/ me and booing the BEP really loud...

Reptile...you're probably right...but, it'd sure be sweet....

the truth is, the most anyone can hope for is these days is for Axl not to start a riot

Saw him 1992 with his JuJuHounds, great show: short but really rocking.

We'll know a bit more this weekend as "Axl n' Roses" are slated to play a 4-night stand at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC...the rumor is that Izzy will show as he and Axl have been spotted together on different occasions...

supposedly they sold out Hammerstein shows in less than 5 minutes...

World Class Dink he most certainly is.....but, he certainly can generate quite a bit of energy...which is a huge part of what rock is all about, no?

I have no "inside" sources at all....just what I've read online..

I'm no GnR historian, but if I remember correctly, Izzy & Waxl (i love to write that) are friends from their hometown. I don't think they hooked up with the rest of the band till they got to LA, so the bond for those 2 guys probably goes deeper.

Please feel free to correct me, because I am not sure about this at all.

Isn´t Axl from California and Izzy from Indiana?

very lucky to have the Gunners opening up. Have seen them twice & they rock very hard. Will only be truly worth it if at least Izzy is there. Even better if Slash too. Only Axl would be OK if he is on his game. That will be a 50/50 chance.

WAxl & Izzy were childhood friends from Bum-F*ck, Indiana....Slash and ex-Drummer Steven Adler were pals from L.A....

Izzy & WAxl bailed to L.A. and formed a band called "Hollywood Rose"...Slash & Adler hung around badgering them to ditch "HR" and form a new band....which eventually they did, adding "Duff" McKagan into the mix on bass.

That's fo sho. Velvet Revolver was an awesome show. The band was super tight hitting you like a sledgehammer.

OH YEAH....I saw VR at the VA Beach Ampitheater last year...f'n great...Slash has so many skills, it hurts...

I hope that if there's NOT gonna be a Gn'R Reunion that at least VR doesn't "Fall to Pieces" (to quote their tune)....though there has been speculation to that effect...

Axl said Slash showed up at his house and called Weiland a "phony"....and Weiland went on an "anti-Axl" tirade...which struck me as odd b/c Slash has always upheld that he didn't like bashing on Axl and still considered him a "brother" despite parting ways...

the rest of VR was conspicuosly (spell) silent on the issue and when asked if he had left VR, Slash commented that "as far as he knew he was still in the band"

Better than Reality TV, THAT'S for sure!!!

Get Izzy in VR OR get the Gunners back together...that's what I'm praying for..

I read in an English music mag that Axl tried to reform them all some months ago, but they declined.

There won't be any reunion with the old gunners, it will just be Axl with a load of old hands. but so what. at least they will be playing some decent rock music. better than most of the other crap thats been announced as support.
