curious...i get a little hints from some of the newspapers and iorr reviews as i follow the tour... and historically, past tours have featured so many diverse and good opening acts...
abb: it's been motley... brooks & dunn...so many others...
who did u see and how did they do? did they go over with the crowd? did you like it?
(i'd post this as 'new' but i dunno how to do that)
Joss Stone . . . ugh! don't understand why she got two opportunities (and maybe more) to perform to Stones audiences.
Queens of the Stone Age. My friend enjoyed them a lot, but I found them difficult to listen to and a little abrasive. At one point, the singer said "Thank you" and a few seconds latter added, "I said @#$%&' thank you!"
Wish I had been able to see Wilco's opening set in Atlanta, I believe.

ty for explanation; always wondered about that, duhh...
also, must say that very first Crue album Too Fast For Love... inho is quite the killer...and yes, it was a lonnngg time ago... but their shows when they were breaking out of the clubs and into small theatres and civic centers...were really intense...
tommy lee's drumming on that first album (and for me ONLY that first album...maybe leetle bitz of the second) is out of control incrediballl...
too fast for love is a one off classic...like bollocks or something... yes completely different bands and all...only mentioning in that it is a similar thing in just this context: ...ONE great and inspired album...really a rock landmark...
and yes we were all making fun of vince's voice and imitating it and cracking each other up with that first album alla time... but we were also listening to it and eating it up all the time as well.
that shitz purty down and real and hot... then comes big record deal... all fall down.
...either nothing...or bitz of flash amidst the oncoming deadweight dross of many uninspired years and albums.
tho i have not heard one good thing about crue on ABB tour; not ONE yet. which is kinda sad...must be true...
they were truly great at the santa monica civic circa that first album '81?? and i saw 'em on a tv show about a year ago...and it wasn't godawful. as for abb; i thought it a great idea...now feel seely; disappointed but not surprised.
Though he is not a fave of mine, I thought his musical ability, band and overall quality of performance was great. Had a relaxed vibe that I dug. Great guitar work and good cover of "I am the Walrus"
"When I was a junkie I learned to ski, and I recorded Exile on Mainstreet" Keith Richards
Beck and Antigone Rising. I didn't get to see all of Antigone but they were good. Beck was fanstastic. He opened up with Loser and rocked out a lot of hits. Anyone who has any common knowledge of music after 1990 should be able to recognize most of Beck's hits. He was fantastic. When I really started to get into music around 11 years old Beck was just coming out. I bought his cd and listened to it all the time. Such a talented person. Each cd just blows me away.

sounds like you're a 'Forty Licks Fan' when it comes to Beck.
1. john mayer , he impressed me 2. alanis morisette , seen last half of her set , every song a hit , not bad 3. beck, heard him only from parkin lot , he sounded good 4. whoever played in hartford ct. dont no
John Mayer Trio MCI Center Wash. DC...he says SRV is a big influence, and I can see why. And an added bonus he had a Wino on drums! The opening act is an added bonus if I'm into them, and I'm glad I got JMT.

No nikkibong. As usual you jump to conclusion. I have more than one beck album which means I have plenty of non-single Beck songs that I'm well aware of. However, I'd never seen Beck in concert so I enjoyed hearing his hits just as much as anything else.
