2000 man

A few hours ago I heard 2000 man by Kiss. I liked it pretty much. Never seen anyone picked that one when someone have asked about the best cover of Stones. I don`t change my favourite, Sympathy for the devil by Jane`s Addiction, but Kiss did their version very well.

I've mentioned the song in the past for Stones covers. I actually heard KISS's version before I had Satanic. Always been an Ace Frehley fan. Coincidentally, it was his birthday yesterday, 55 years old.

KISS's Unplugged version is better than the studio version, IMHO.

Without wishing to cause offence I think hideous cartoon metal bands should not be allowed anywhere near sacred Stones material.

That off beat Charlie plays in it is great (mostly at the beginning). Very difficult to do. The organ sounds great too. The Kiss version does not capture the mood/feel of the original IMO.

The Kiss version is very good indeed.

I got the 1978 single that has 200 man as Bside.

First time I heard it. Great tune

There is a band called "The Hymans" who did a punky, not-half-bad cover of 2000 Man, they are European by the sound of it [beta.yousendit.com]

I always thought 2000 Man should be a bit faster than the Stones did it.
I have absolutely no idea who they are. And sorry for this not being in Hot Stuff.

I thought it was pretty cool when Wes Anderson used 2000 Man as the music for a chase scene in his movie Bottle Rocket.

It's a great song. Maybe Chuck can convince them to pull it out of mothballs for Europe.
