That's because they have GREAT songs, that still hold up today. When I play it at parties, everyone dances (and not just to Saturday Night).

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Someday, if I have partaken a bit too much, I will shock everyone and sing all the words and all the verses of "Me and Bobby(ie?) McGee"! I do it at home all the time and in the car..but not in front of people..I love the song...not necessarily all of Janis' work ......

......busted flat in Baton Rouge.....well no one is here...I'm singin'!

You know what loog, now that you say that, it just dawned on me how white the RS concert crowd is, at least it is at the Boston shows.

Did anyone else notice that? I wonder if their music simply doesn't appeal to most blacks. Interesting.

Maybe because Stones shows now are so EXPENSIVE...

There were more blacks in the crowd when the Stones played the Colliseum in '81 than at The Who show in '82. Stones were much more R&B...

Anyway, haven't the Stones made a career out of making black music safe for white people?

Hi Loog, you are 100% right about that. They certainly exposed me to a lot of black music I wouldn't have otherwise heard. I thank them for that too.

DION
with and sans The Belmonts... and i don't feel at all embarassed about it...
except mebbe here... but there ya go... DION...
no celine jokes pretty please...
The Wanderer for God's sake...
The King of the New York Streets...
Ruby Baby!!!
(did a live rock album about ten years ago with The Little Kings in NY.)
...mid-90s Dion formed the Little Kings with guitarists Scott Kempner of the Dictators and Del Lords, bassist Mike Mesaros of the Smithereens, and Frank Funaro of the Del Lords.

dude just came out with a new acoustic solo blues cover album...
the king of the new york streets is in FINE voice...

not a scratch or sag unless he puts it there on purpose...

a star at 16, now 66...
was on that dick clark tour but wouldn't take the private plane, despite the freezing school bus... cause the $40. it would have cost him, was the same his Dad had to sweat out to pay rent in the Bronx in those years...and he couldn't reconcile that.
buddy holly took that flight.

will surprise some how deep he is into the blues... no less than THE howlin' wolf had remarked about his guitar playing..
sayin' it loud. Dion Dimucci.
