How does Keith set his volume and tone controlls on the teles he uses for open-g tunes?

I guess he just puts 'em all wide open, but ofcourse I'm not sure. And how would anyone know?

He sets them wide open, and then turns just a notch back on the volume. On Tele's this is a known trick to bring out the midrange on a Tele, so the sound becomes a bit more full bodied. Besides it being a known trick, he also mentiones this in a guitar magazine interview.
