That's pretty cool and brave of her. It was a different time back then, and not everyone was willing to be the first.

I have to tell you, Mr. R, when you say "she had one of the first black men" it sounds sexual. Like after someone has sex with someone they say they "had her", or "had him". Instead try saying she was one of the first to have a black boyfriend (unless you really mean that she just had sex with him, the ol tart!)

For me C ,I dont even think about it anymore...but in the sixties you still had apartheid in the usa and in old holland...it was a shame to have a relation with a black man...my father was mixed arowak/black so that makes me a real cocktail Tjhe Hague!!!

My parents liked the old stuff like Elvis, Buddy Holly. Mostly we got a lot of Irish music though like Tommy Clancy and the Makem Brothers. The Johnny Horton album also got played a lot.

I had to learn about rock myself. My family wasn't into it at all. I did also take my little sister to see the Stones on the Voodoo Lounge tour. She loved it.

Yeah, I know how those people are. And it's fun to hang out with up to a point, but then there is a moment of realization when you know they just lack a certain sense of consequences, and it's scary. Still, the poor guy, hope he didn't suffer.
