I heard on the news that there was an earthquake round Tokyo today. Did anybody hear that Stones shows are to be cancelled or the Stones themselves were threatened?

No problem.

More importantly, the Sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway, usually referred to as "subway sarin incident" was occurred as an act of domestic terrorism
perpetrated by members of the religious group on March 20, 1995.
Families of the stones used to get on and off subway station "Kamiya-cho" closed to their hotel some days ago of this incident in 1995.
It was within a hair's breadth.

There are very often earthquakes in Japan. Newspapers in Europe report them and when I just arrived here my family used to call me to see whether I was allright. But really, 99% of these earthquakes don't cause a lot of damage. I'm on the tenth floor. Now and then you wake up and you see that everything is shaking, but that's about it.
Japan is a very safe country and buildings are constructed in such a way that it would take a major earthquake ( like an 8 or so ) to take 'em down.

Well to be honest I think 8 on the richter scale would give you a wake up call... I once han 4.2 when I was in San Francisco and the room shaked for half a minute nothing more. At 5 it is getting noisy and at 6 people die in less developed countries. At 7 people die even in SF and at 8 and above it is nasty. Anywhere. Even in Iceland and Japan I think, where they take extreme measures.

But that's what I say, Bjornulf, 8 is disaster, even in Japan. But it very rarely happens. Usually it's between 5 and 6. And that is no problem, just a little shake rattle and roll. Those quakes between 5 and 6 are reported though.

And so if things start shaking in your hotel room: don't worry.
