With the kind help of IORR members I finally got my head round to downloading Stones boots from Rocksoff BitTorrent. To start my boot only collection does anyone have any suggestions.?

1,000 Thanks.

To get started:

- Live'r than You'll ever Be (Oakland 69).
- Leeds 71.
- The Stones Touring Party Box from the 72 american Tour.
- Perth 73
- Brussels-London 73
- LA Forum july 13 1975
- Handsome Girls various 78
- Hampton Roads 81
- Naples 82

With these you'll already reach the heaven...

Somebody will tell you the better ones from 89 onwards.

Follow my advice: Get the STP 72 box and play it loud. Tell me later.

I would add the remastered Ladies & Gentlemen soundtrack to bruno's most excellent list! (or is that included in the STP box? cant remember)

For more recent stuff, Atlantic City '89, Voodoo At Halloween '95. Several good ones fron '98 (Breman, Paris,St Louis, Rio w/Dylan) Msg from '99, I like the HBO show from 03 (0r the warm up show from two nights before). Bangalore is quite nice also!

And from this tour, Buenos Aries and Rio are the best combination of quality and performance...but there some great audience recordings as well (Charlottesville, Houston, MSG '06; and the ALD from Miami).

All IMO and off the top of my head!

Voodoo @ halloween is 94 I believe, in Oakland CA. But yes, many 97-99 shows are excellent, and for 89 onwards, the Stripped Club shows (ie Paradiso) are hard to beat.

There seem to be more boots out there than official releases.

"The stars in the sky they never lie" has excellent versions of @#$%& and Hearbreaker, from Hamburg, Oct. 2, 1973 (http://cds.jrd.org.uk/list/cd.rol.tsitstnl.shtml).

Is it me or are most Stones boots recorded in America?

Brussels 73
Stripped Companion
Keith's Voodoo Lounge outtakes

These will get you started.

I like outtakes and don't really need every show as some do. I just wanted the famous (and best) ones - Brussels, Leeds, Perth, etc - and the shows I've attended. 0Most on here are honest and can be trusted. I (like many) am sometimes slow, but I'll get 'em to you as soon as I can. E-mail and I'll e-mail my (short) list. BTW, bv wants this to go on at the Buy/Sell/Trade page.

San Diego 1969 has really good sound for a boot from that tour (I only have the original record - no CD)

The original list of bruno is really good.
I would add Stripped Companion though..

ALD from Miami... Which year ???
I have the 1994 PPV show, is this the one you mean Ross?

Sorry for the slow response, Doc.

It is from 8-11-05. It is available on Dime as a torrent. The quality ain't all that great...but a nice raw sound - good departure from the audience boots.

considering the fact that the Stones have played just short of 2,000 shows and almost half of them (including about 90% of the shows since 1969) have been bootlegged - many of them several times over - thats hardly surprising
