Back Of My Hand.
Rough Justice.
Oh No Not You Again.

Nothing comes close to these three.
And the following three are:

Look What The Cat Dragged In.
Driving Too Fast.
This Place Is Empty.

Closely followed by:

Laugh I Nearly Died.
Sweet Neocon.
Dangerous Beauty.
It Won't Take Long.
Streets Of Love.
She Saw Me Coming.
Infamy.

And these are followed by:
Rain Fall Down (Might change my opinion if I hear it live in a kick-ass version).
Let Me Down Slow.

And lastly the true stinker that shouldn't be on ANY album:
Biggest Mistake (INDEED).

If I were to put in the 2 extra special edition tracks then Under The Radar would be placed in the same catagory as Look What The Cat dragged In. We Don't Wanna Go Home would be placed in the Laugh I Nearly Died group.

boggles my mind what all you "hear" in RJ...a throwaway rocker, in my book. Wish I could get into it....really do.

Under The radar would be in my top 3 or 4 if it had been included on the album proper

The only two song I dislike is Sweet Neocon, although I dont care much for Streets of Love and Infamy. 3 out of 18 is pretty impressive, though. Especially when compared to the 4 new ones on 40 Licks. 1 good (Dont stop), 1 OK (Stealing my heart) and two that I thought were bloody awful.

Strange the diverse difference in opinion over what we like and dont like.

rough justice
back of my hand
laugh i nearly dead
it won't take long
she saw me coming

.....oh no this is impossible to do again .....

in fact i think all the songs on ABB are OK, except sweet neo con which is really a bad song

look what the cat dragged in and driving too fast are not essential, even if i know a lot of people enjoy them

And Neo-Con occupies a spot in my top 5 on the album for me - lyrically AND musically. So there....

I would like to understand: If the lyrics were different would you like it then??? I like when the Stones do these dance-like riffs (Like Slave and Dance pt. 1 and 2). Remember before ABB came out? There were rumours about a song in the vein of Slave or Dance. Sweet Neocon is the one for sure. The riffs sound alike. I agree that the lyrics could have been written by a 5 year old, or even worse: ME. But the music is pretty awesome. I guess it's one of these songs one has to "agree" with to like (I mean: Agreeing with the lyrics). Now, I'm a leftie (Political, not hand-wise grinning smiley) so I agree (For the most part). The music rocks. If it had been on Tattoo You with different lyrics, it would have been one of those people crave to hear all the time..........Me thinks.

I would like it if the lyrics were different-- because they are stupid rather than because they are anti-Bush. I think most people who say SNC is a bad song are not right-wingers but just cringe at the lyrics.
If the lyrics were better, then the song would be fine, as I agree the music is not too bad. Granted, it's not the worst Bush-bashing song ever. I don't know if you've heard Pearl Jam's "Bushleaguer" but the only thing that SNC has going for it is that it's not quite as preposterous as the PJ song.

I don't listen to Pearl Jam. They suck IMO. Nirvana is the way to go from the grunge wave.

Well, what about You Gotta Move (Not their song, but still). Stupid lyrics that merely sound cool. Great music, but lame lyrics. Do you like it??? When the lyrics suck I always just look past them. To me it's always been music before lyrics (Although I must admit that I loved the first time I heard Rough Justice: Those lyrics ROCK).

Pearl Jam have outgrown 'grunge' a long time ago.

You Gotta Move isnt nearly as stupid. A lot of blues songs have lyrics like that, which are often laughable. But this is Mick trying to make a political point (?!) and failing miserably.

With the Stones, lyrics often come first. I'd say that for many of their 60s songs, like 19th nervous breakdown and mothers little helper, as well as Sympathy for the devil, and the entire Some Girls album. Shame when people diregard Jagger's GOOD lyrics.
