I was reading the thread about the beautiful song called Dandelion,so I said let's download it and please our ears and go to the music store this week to buy it.Thank god I checked it out.I was going to buy flowers.Man I didn't know that this was a compilation cd.I don't like collections etc,but with stones you got to own them beacuse you can't find paint it black in an album for example.I own nothing before Beggars Banquet, only Big Hits, but I am gonna have all of them soon.SO buy Hot Rocks, which has paint it black?London Years or through the past?

I have ABB.I was thinking for forty licks but I have heard that many songs on the second disc are EDITED VERSIONS.

that's true. still, not a bad compliation altogether.

(though its a tragedy that bitch and waiting on a friend weren't included)

I dont think Forty licks has dandelion. You should just get the london years. thats the best 60s compilatio IMO

No need to aplogize. Aint no thing but a chicken wing. somoeone should write a book about the best stones complations, so that you can maximize your catalouge without buying too many CDs that have the same song on them. Its hard to say. Ideally it would be best just to own all thier albums and then go from there. probably downloading the rest would be the best way to go now.

Paint It Black is on the North American Aftermath. Dandelion is on More Hot Rocks.

Recommendation: Buy all of the CD's pre-Beggars!

Dandilion is also on a Japanese LP just called "The Rolling Stones" incl. the "best of 1963-69". It's a double abum. I got it in 1987 and never seen it anywhere anytime again.

good idea. even better: buy all the SACD hybrids from the beginning through LIB.

Buy the London Years SACD triple compilation. It has all the classic B-Sides including of course, Dandelion.

>> what is SADC? <<

it's SACD: super audio compact disk, which need special equipment to be played.
but SACD *hybrids* - which is what ABKCO released the Stones' early catalog on - also play on normal CD equipment, and they sound splendid.
