Motley Crue supporting The Stones, seems almost welcome, compared to this:-

From NME.COM:-

Red Hot Chilli Peppers Plan US Tour With Kayne West

The band, who release new LP 'Stadium Arcadium' on May 8, plan to follow their massive European summer tour with an arena jaunt alongside the rapper. If all goes to plan, the shows will start in late August with dates running through the winter.

Bassist Flea told MTV, "I think we'll be doing some legs with Kanye, but I don't know if that's confirmed yet or not. I think we're going to do a month or two with him. I think it's going to happen, and I hope it happens. He's a great artist - and we always try to get the best people to play with that we can."

Speaking about the new record, Flea says of the 25-track 'Stadium Arcadium' that he hasn't been this excited about the band's music since "we first started in 1983."

He added: "It's the best record we've ever made. I feel so important to share this album with the world. Making this record, I just feel like each one of us was at the best that we could be.

"This 'Stadium Arcadium', this is our grand statement - this is the best that we can do. This is the best we're capable of. If you don't like this [record], you don't like the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Period."

Rappers on RHCP tours is nothing new... Snoop Dogg opened a few shows on their By The Way tour in '03...

Kanye West has to be an improvement over the perennial openers of their last tour: Queens of the Stone Age and Mars (Re) Volta.... never heard 2 worse bands in my life.

What you have to suffer through to see the Peppers who are undoubtedly one of the greatest live bands of all time...

Funny how so many Stones fans on this board try to slam the RHCP because their music is so stones-like in the sense that their concerts are just awesome live musical affairs, exactly the kind of show that 99% of Stones fans would go crazy over if they would drop their pre-conceptions...

Back in 71-73 Stones fans saw all kinds of different bands.... Jethro Tull, the Allmans, Mountain, Yes, the Airplane, the Dead, Clapton, the list was endless...

Today these sames Stones fans are mostly "johnny one-notes"... it's the Stones and nobody else.

You're missing alot of incredible music.

Where are you Born On The Bayou? In LA 2003 we got Flaming Lips and Mike Watt. I didn't go but I had some friends who went. Mike Watt is awesome live but not sure how well he goes over playing a 30 min set in an arena at 7:00

The best Chili Peppers openers I ever saw were at some benefit at the Palladium right after Lollapalooza 92. Mudhoney, L7/Joan Jett, The Fluid, Hammerbox and Courtney Love doing 2 songs solo. Show was about 5-6 hours and I lost 7 lbs.

Yeah, the Peppers play with so many different bands from rap to funk to "pure musicians" like Watt to the hardest-core heavy metal... you can't pigeon-hole them into one category or the other...

I saw 4 gigs of By the Way: Kansas City, Jones Beach New York, Chicago Tweeter Center, and Milwaukee.

The dreadful Mars Volta/QOTSA opened 3 of them, not sure who opened Jones Beach because we got there during the break.

I know there's fans of MV/QOTSA so save your flames, I just find their music to be so heavy it's like "flintstones rock" with a lead vocalist screaming like he's dying. I just don't get it ...

But I probably won't get Kanye west either smiling smiley

If you don't mind, please tell us what CURRENT BANDS you enjoy live in concert ?

I assume you're a Stones fan... any other bands ?

As far as "no talent turds"... does that mean that:

1) You don't think Flea is a talented bass player

2) you don't think Chad Smith is an incredible drummer

.... just for starters...
