A friend of mine has the Russian "Let it Bleed", which has several 'bonus tracks' (Keith singing 'Gimmie Shelter,' etc) and a poster (not the poster that came with first editions of the original LP, which would have been nice). I have around 2000 CDs & I don't know how many LPs, yet recently acquired my first ever Russian-made CD, a reissue of "No New York" (produced by Eno, w/ James Chance/Contortions' earliest, incredibly powerful (Albert Ayler-meets-James Brown) recordings (4 tracks) plus remarkably sturdy, laminated cover repro & terrific remastering - how they do it? Hate to hold my breath 'til this title gets reissued in the US...

Hi Billy!

On the back insert of my Russian Stone Age it
lists the 9 bonus tracks and reads;

"Recorded in Fort Worth, New York, Philidelphia and Houston
June/ July 72."

Isn't yours the same?

I wonder if they didn't just copy the tracks from the old
ABKCO albums in the order they appeared on Stone Age,
just like the Russian releases of the Beatles and VJ
Capital albums?

I also find it strange their choice of bonus trax, on this
and the other Russian Stone cds. As in this case they
are good, but have no relation to the original album
to which they are attached.

I had a friend who tried to find the address listed on some
of the covers, during a visit to Moscow. No such place.
Same with the phone number. Doesn't work. Are no doubt
bootlegs/ grey area pirate discs. There's some rumours
that they are actually made in Germany and the Russian
lettering is a rue.

Not everyones favourite album to say the least,
but I grew up with it and so still like it,
wanted it on cd. Before I found this copy
I colour photocopied the cover and reconstructed
it from the new remasters. Sounds much better,
but the Russian is a fun package all the same.

Aha yes! I see your point.
A nice live collection from the 72
tour, but which exact dates.....................?

Did you get the "Rock and Rolling Stones" disc with
9 bonus trax from Sydney Australia Feb. 27th 73?
A pretty cheap silver disc version, tho they
screwed up the "Rock and Rolling Stones"
disc by inexplicably substituting
"We Love You" for "Come On".
Not even close! :-)

By the way, great artwork on these packages,
cover reprints, poster inserts etc etc etc.....
