They are not really good anymore since 1981/82.

I just say what I want.

Since 1989 the edges are gone, nothing comes close to the hard riffs on
Hampton 81 or any recording from 1976. Since 1989 it´s arranged to death.

The Brussels affair version is good. And I like the focus on the Exiletour.

But it's totaly dead on LYL and I don't understand the fascination of the way they played it on 81/82 tour. Think 89/90 version was good even if its a bit overarranged.

Please let it rest in peace. How about "Out of Time" in its place?

Hey - the Mick Taylorites put together something called:

Leave the Preachin to the Preacher

They spliced together all of Mick Taylor's leads on YCAGWYW from the 72 & 73
tours. Some better quality than others, but the version from Wash DC. 1972
4th of July is awesome!!! and the version from MSG NY - soundboard
excellent!!!

Best in my opinion are the versions of the tour 75/76, no sax, only the solo of Ronnie in great shape. The versions during this tour as well as the Licks versions aren't quite good cause Ronnie isn't in good shape (yet, I hope).

Sorry - Robert although 75 was some of Ronnie's best - can't touch Taylor in 72
my opinion!!!!

Ever since '72/'73 something has not been right with this song - and it's only partially attributable to the lack of MT. The whole rhtyhm of the song changed (subtle but noticeable) after '73....wish I could explain it (maybe someone else who has also noticed?). There was such a tension and drama in the pace and rhythm of the song that has been lacking ever since....something about the drums/bass/KR/piano all locked into a groove....

My favorite is Welcome to NY '72 -- fantastic solo.

I thought 81 in Big D was as good as it gets.

Just an interesting tid-bit, the morning of the that the show was recorded in 76 was when keith and anita's 1 week old baby died, lotta soul and emotion in the version

"mick's my wife, and we can't get divorced"

"Alright keith, gimmie some of them women"

"And now, dressed as mick jagga........mick jagga"
