1978 and 1975 and 1976 and 1977. !981 is the beginning of the downfall, he looks cool on some pics but mostly like an old angry man. 1969 was little to geeky and 1972 trying to be cool.

imo.....the gypsy outlaw look of '69 & '72 with the blonde streaked rooster hair-cut and earring(long before earrings became trendy) and with junkie-rotting-teeth....romantic decadence...and a look that spawned countless imitators right up to the present

72.....but who cares what the boy looks like as long as they sound good!!!! its not how you look but how you feel...or is it the other way around??

it's too bad image matters so much....but thats the visual aspect and definitely a hook....but rock'n'roll's always been steeped in image (way too much for my taste)........but the bottom line (as tat2you stated) is as long as they sound good..........how it looks and how it is....image and reality

the waistcoats on that tour were pretty cool and the hairstyle was mostly 'top of the range'!

The best look for Keith was 72...he still had a bit of youth on his side and that wasted pirate look was his best look. The 78 tour was the last tour of that classic look. After that it was the decline.

Nobody likes the '89 look? I always thought he looked pretty cool there - the whole band looked good then - a little more refined, but aging gracefully

Oh come on Kev, 89...maybe, MAYBE Keith. But that was the worst. They all wore these terribl;e jackets, real JCPenney stuff. Even Woody looked lame. Jagger....LOL Jagger and that haircut I don;'t even want to get into.
Then in 94 IMO they looked GREAT! They all looked great, a lot wilder than 89.
Those pirate coats they wore on Not fade Away!
But for B2B they took it too far. I hated that coat Keith wore on Satisfaction. I see that coat and I think of "Eviiita!" A Lloyd Weber haha

When the Supreme Being was deciding how a rock and roll musician should look, he came up with Keith Richards circa 1969 and then broke the mold. All others thereafter were pale imatations.

I'm amazed at how YOUNG he now looks in the '78 photos. Back then, I thought he was older than dirt because he was 34 and I was 19. See, it's all relative.

When was it exactly that he began to comb his hair with cherry bombs? I think that was around the time of the New Barbarians tour, wasn't it?

here's a little axe-slinger from New Yawk.....took Keef's image to heart.....and unfortunately for him, took the Riffmasters lifestyle to heart...and it did him in....but backed up his image with some fine junkie-punky raunch'n'roll.....r.i.p. New York Doll

Ah, Johnny Thunders! Man, I loved the NY Dolls and Johnny.Sorry thathe hadto go. Many have tried to emulate Keith's life style and it has cost them their lives. Idolators beware! Keith's longevity is based partly on luck. He could have died more than a few times I reckon.

Didn't he have WHITE hair in '97? And didn't he say he would NEVER colour it again?
