I think there's an 78rpm-acetate on sale every now and then at Sotheby's including "You Can't Judge A Book", "Soon Forgotten" and "Pretty Thing" - I missed it last time as I learned about it about 5 days too late. That was back in 1992/1993 but it was not that cheap at all - somewhere around GBP 6.500 if I remember correctly.

As I recall - Chris Jagger purchased the acetate

Thanks Rockman - silly me :-) I begin to mess things up more and more, must be a sign of age...

Joe - it was collector named Chris (Eborn ? I fear I'm wrong again) who bought this item when it was on auction for the first time, but not Chris Jagger. As a second acetate was offered (the one I wrote about) it wasn't sold. Still I would like to buy it if I only knew who's the one who tried to sell it.

Silk -

I'm sure your are correct. I listened to the cut again..when it was presented on the radio..only mentions "Chris" not "Chris Jagger"...

The back of Beggars Breakfast has 'played on the radio by the proud owner Chris Jagger' but you're right , Joe, he's only referred to as 'Chris'
