Keith's been using his black Gibson ES-355 for Satisfaction on this tour -
the photo's from the club gig last august, but i don't think he's changed it.

He played Satisfaction on the Gibson at Soldier Field last year too...

For whatever reason, Satisfaction is really the STANDOUT SONG among alot of standouts this tour... I like it this tour alot better even than when they opened with it on B2B.

Im pretty sure that whenever statisfaction goes encore, he uses the white strat(same one he used on bridges for the opening) ??? maybe not, that how he did it last tour, the red gibson for show and white for encore. Untill of course he got the tele from gibbons.....

satisfaction always sounds good. don't hear anything different on this tour than the past few.

that being said - can someone who was there last show say a little more about the Mustang Sally transition? Was it just a MS vocal with the same backing song? Or did they actually go into the MS riff?

I would love to hear the Mustang Sally version from MSG. Can somebody post this?

Cheers,

It was the same "Satisfaction" BUT Mick just started yelling "Mustang Sally" several times and it just *felt* right and hit the soul button on the highway to my heart. Sure I love (and respect immensely!) Ray Charles....but for me I really feel the loss of Wilson Pickett a little bit more. Wicked to me was just too underrated (especially with his later stuff like 99's "It's getting harder" which is a killer modern soul record).

It was pretty cool for sure but I really feel like you had to be there. Everyone in the audience knew what had happened to Pickett and so Mick's shout-out hit home. For posterity it's cool to listen to again. At the same time, the version of "Satisfaction" was truly pretty memorable. I agree with everyone here, including withsssoul, that they are really nailing this song during this tour.

Is it me or does it sound like they crank up the volume during the last couple of songs of the night? For example, when the Stones played JJF to close the first ABB shows, THAT version was better than where it is now in the first slot imho.

What do you guys think?

as far as i can tell, on this tour Keith's been using the black ES-355 for Satisfaction every time. including It's Only Satisfaction in Philadelphia. :E
(and that was a Telecaster he used to open B2B - that cream-coloured one with the white pickguard.)
thanks for describing the Mustang Sally version, Charles - great that you could be there and feel it - that's what it's for. i'd love to hear it someday.
