I don't know whether this subject has already been treated in previous threads but I am curious to know which bootlegs our community would recommand for each tour and every studio album released by the Stones.

1966: Live in Honolulu (excellent radio broadcast)....1969: Live in San Diego (same taper as Oakland '69 - excellent audience reel to reel recording)....1970: Live in Paris (line recording from radio broadcast - muffled, but still enjoyable)....1971: Leeds (crystal clear radio broadcast)....1972: Ft. Worth Express (excellent soundboard)....1973: (runners-up to Brussels) Perth, Australia (clear soundboard)...1973: Sydney, Australia (excellent soundboard)....1976: Theres a handful of excellent soundboards from this tour....1978: Out On Bail (Passaic, New Jersey soundboard - strong runner-up to Handsome Girls)...1982: Shattered in Europe (excellent soundboard from Italy)

Get Yer Leeds Lungs Out is definitely cool! I have that on vinyl as well as There's No Angel Born In Hell. Both good records from Swingin' Pig Records! smiling smiley

Well thanks for all your replies but my question was not only directed to Live bootlegs .I was also talking about outtakes which are worth a buy if you like a specific studio album.

hm, the outtake boots are often compiled of stuff that crosses "album boundaries", but ... i'll try:

More Stoned Than You'll Ever Be is a real nice 3-disk set of outtakes/alternate versions from 63 to about 71;
The Black Box is five disks from about that same period.
Have You Heard the Outtakes Baby has some cool 66/67 stuff.
Through the Past Starkly and Hillside Blues have stuff from 68 - 71 or so.
Tropical Disease has Exile-era early takes and alternates.
It's Only Goat's Head Soup is real nice.
Keith's wonderful 77 and 81 tapes aren't associated with any album.
then there's:
Alternate Girls
Fast Talking, Slow Walking
Tattoo Too
Alternate Dirty Work and/or Crushed Pearl
Better Than the Real Rebirth (SW rehearsals - don't know of any outtakes)
Voodoo Stew, Voodoo Brew, Voodoo Residue, More from the Voodoo Lounge
Closer Than Close (B2B rehearsals - don't know of any outtakes)

hope that helps some! go slow & get 'em all.

Thanks to everyone .I have countless bootlegs Live and outtakes but I was curious to see which ones you would be selecting as the most representative of the Stones legacy.

The BBC sessions, The Olympia, Paris '66 and '67 and The black box come to mind!!

Cheers,
Wuudy

Wuudy honey, i listed pre-69 stuff! the beautiful BBC stuff is on More Stoned than You'll Ever Be;
and if i'd been listing concert stuff i for sure would've listed Paris 65/66/67. Paris 65 especially -
thank all that is praiseworthy that someone had the wit to tape and preserve the Stones playing Hey Crawdaddy ...

Thanks for that boot! It has so many power, that's why IMO it's a better performance than Perth.
