We just pass it on, Keith use to say.
Therefore I cant stop myself from mentioning
Carl Michael Bellman, maybe the greatest contribution ever
from Sweden to the international song treasure

He was born Feb 4 (same date as my oldest son btw) 1740,
and died in 1795. Ancestors also from Germany.
A master of performance, songwriting and tick descriptions
of Death, Life, Sin, Forgiveness, and Life.
You can walk his home blocks a few hundred yards/meters West of Slussen Metro station in Stockholm.

Drick Ur Ditt Glas - Epistel No 30 [s63.yousendit.com]
In English translation:
Drain of thy glass !
Sie death upon thee waiting, Sharpens his sword and peers in at the door. Be not afraid! He but essays the grating, Friend, to thy tomb; and grants thee one year more. Movitz, consumption is laying thee in the grave man! 'cello: …Pluck an octave, man! Tune thy sweet strings, sing life's fair spring of yore ://: Well, then a toast: to Bacchus farewell waving From Fröja's throne, a last, a long adieu! Fondly the blood, thy veins a last time laving, Seethes to its spell. Then violently spew. Sing, read, forget; weep, bethink thee and ponder: cello: ---Wilt thou go yonder? Movitz, wouldst die? Ah no! Good health to you! ://: [images.google.com]
(contains a summary in English)

My own fav´Bellman interpreter was Fred Åkerström,
he is singing the sample.
If anyone likes this; I may post some more on Trade-side.
