I'm loving "Steel Wheels".

Been listening to this much-maligned CD. I think it's cool. Remember how long it had been since we had anything new in 1989? Recorded in basically 6 weeks. That's gotta be some kind of Stones record! Suffers from a little 80's production, but I still dig it. Give it another chance, ya'll!

Being a CPA^-or-Lawyer-wanabee I used to have a Steel Wheels tie, to go with my grey pinstripe.

The tie is now getting kinda smootchy after 15 years. Does anybody know where I can buy such a tie again?

Being a CPA myself, I've found that novelty ties don't add much to the client's confidence...especially when auditing or testifying.

anyway....I have only found the falling tounges tie...perhaps our friends at the Rollingstones.com store will offer it again....keep hope alive.

The album might not have been much, but the Steel Wheels TOUR was great!

It's more pressing for people to give Dirty Work & Undercover another chance. And Emotional Rescue too.

"Terrifying" is an absolute classic, and "Slipping Away" is a brilliant soul ballad. The rest sounds a bit hurried and generic but it's a nice album overall. The only song I have to skip is "Blinded by Love", one of those embarrassing "Mexican" ballads that Mick writes once in a while.

Really like "Almost Hear You Sigh"

"Slipping Away" is also very nice.

Steel Wheels was a fun tour.

The funny thing is that I did not like SW when it came out mainly for its sound - that as a matter of fact was the trend at the time - but it grew on me, and now I like it, sound included, despite it is so outdated!

Almost Hear You Sigh is great on the record and was one of my highlights on the Urban Jungle Tour which was fantastic.

Other tracks I like off of SW are Rock And Hard Place, Sad Sad Sad, Continental Drift, Slipping Away. Much better album than DW, Undercover or ER.

Yeah, like "Sweethearts Together" from Vodoo Lounge...

The Great Album at the right time for a huge and most "popular" tour. Who has not in mind the gig intro of " Continental Drift" followed by a gigantic Start Me Up. The last album featuring Bill. His last tour too. But the revival tour also.

The recently released Montreal 12/14/89 DVD by Empress Valley is an excellent example of this tour.

Great playing, great set list. Fun shows. And as someone mentioned Bill W.'s last tour.

only problem (soundwise) on the Montreal mono soundboard is that KR's guitar is buried in the mix
