What a lousy version of "Beast of burden"

With the Rarities album, Stones are back in the mainstream, although there ARE highlights. On Beast of burden, the band just summarizes what was once a great song. No feel and too fast.

Really? I love that version. Shame they left it off Still Life!

Yes it is a little bit rough and faster than usual, but it has a characteristic atmosphere of hastiness, as if it is spoken from a beast of burden ... I like this version and the great guitar work of Ron and Keith.

but the motions they went thru in '78 beat the hell out of the '05 motions. Anyone second that motion?

Mr T&A, I'd fully agree with you sir, but that particular version of Beast of Burden is from the 81 tour and as such, not a patch on their 78 renditions.

It's a classic song and should not be rushed!
