I'd put these boys in the all time top 5 - Between Zep and The Doors. What do you guys and girls think?

TRY IT - The Standells

DIRTY WATER - The Standells

They were a great garage band but no Rolling Stones. For a brief spell from 66 to 67 Paul Revere And The Raiders were the main US Stones copyists. Unfortunately they never got taken seriously because of their ridiculous outfits and the buffoonery of their band leader.

Check out their Him Or Me..totally based on Let's Spend The Night Together.

I totally agree. Someone should open a new club with a whole 60's thing going - GO GO GIRLS included. Now I would hang out at a place like that (it's hard to find a place that one wants to hang at these days). we can call it "CLUB SIX-TEASE" Man , the concept is coming together. What would be the best city for numero uno? (I see the cash rolling in) smiling smiley .....

Same year 67 Outsiders.

They did the supporting act in 67 for the Stones in Hoilland or was it 66

PRATRs remind me more of The Kinks than the Rolling Stones.

I like them a lot though, the few songs I know of theirs. As for the Standells, I only know Dirty Water, which as you can imagine gets played all the time out here.

Wow - I feel like such a moron! I never knew when Bow Wow Wow did that song that it was a cover.

The dancing is FANTASTIC! The camera should be on the dancers the whole time.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

I love the 60's garage type rock n'roll no matter who it is or where it's from, but the idea of an American Rolling Stones never made sense to me. Nice posts, all.

I agree SD, all good songs. Kept them simple and they rocked....

Let's not forget the Dude that made an entire living from 2:56 - who could it be?

I think a few houses and many cars were bought with these royalties....

Weird - thought I posted this earlier, must not have pressed send.

I had never heard this song till the Land Rover ads that came out a few years ago.

Some Stones-inspired garage rock from the Northern Europe... This is the Creatures - a band that never made a record but were caught live for the film "Käpy selän alla" (1966)... also some typical Finnish drinking habits is presented there... (for Baboon Bro: the song is a Swedish original, and in drums is no else but Remu from the Hurriganes... the singer is 15 years old Kirka Babitzin, a very popular pop singer in Finland later)
