Just heard the german singe edit in radio; obviously censored: only "beggars" but no "@#$%&"...(just dropped off)....Anyone knows if this censoring is only in Germany or also in other countries ?

somewhat funny and also old-fashioned those here in Germany who are responsible for that....propably people who decided to dropp this word off do it at their best.....

I haven't heard the radio edit. How does the line go?

or
The bankers are (silence) every Thursday night

I really doubt, theat anyone in Germany would be responsible for this kind of edit. Better look west a few thousand km. Or maybe AMEX is responible :-)
Can You imagine the Stones playing in German AMEX headquaters Frankfurt to thousands of bankers in the front of stage section and singing "The bankers are w_a _n k_ e-rs every Thursday night"

Now you mention it, it is kinda weird that Amex are sponsoring the tour and at the same time the Stones release a single where the line "the bankers are wánkers" gets edited!

and while we're on the subject: does everyone in the whole wide world except me get what the deal is with thursday nights?

Altogether, censoring the word Beggars is a pretty lame controversy. I'm pretty sure the Stones are too bored by it to even protest.
