I agree with you that this system sucks. But as Paris is GA and usually tickets don't sell so fast, i'm pretty sure you'll be able to get tixs in every categories during the public sale.

might be an idea to get an Amex card, before any potetial last-minute club gig announcements.
It's just the sort of stunt they'd pull- giving Amex holders, priority for club gigs.

i look upon it, as a challenge... get the tickets you want, without
"cheating" with Amex.

and i think people need to get over the notion that the various presales get the best tickets. the allocations to the presales are sometimes great and sometimes they suck and sometimes they're real mixed. people have scored great - and ungreat - tickets in all the different sales, including the public ones.

several years ago i realized that no matter what i do, someone else will end up with better tickets at better prices for more gigs than i will - and i am going to have a freakin ~*blast*~ at the gigs i go to anyway.
