Through the Lonely Nights

The booklet in the Rarities collection sheds little light on the background of the songs. Does anyone have the details on Through the Lonely Nights, first released as the B-side of It's Only Rock 'n' Roll? I read a rumor that Jimmy Page plays guitar on the track . . . true or false? Also, who sings background vocals?

I have read that this song was part of the same batch of songs that produced Tops, recorded in 1972 or 1973. If anyone knows anything about this gem, please post.

Thanks.

no Jimmy. That's as pure an MT solo as he ever recorded....

Thanks StonesTod; that is what I alwasy think too: this more than Time or Sway to me is the quintessential Taylor solo. I love this tune. That phased guitar is also pure Keith.
I read pserchia that BU vox are by Keith, Jagger and Taylor.

Agreed. Another forgotten MT solo is on 'Winter". The intro in played by KR in open G tuning starting on the 2nd fret.
