Would they tour if they didn't have a good time?

Let's turn this the other way around: Would they tour for a year and a half if they didn't think it was fun?

Amyone who has been on a club show, or been up front on any venue, can easily see that they really really love what they do. They're all smiles and laughter, and they are really making an effort to play well and give a hell of a show.

The ticket prices would be much more pleasant if they were cut by 50%, no doubt about it. But remember, they were screwed in the 60s and 70s, and they want to have what they can get. It's understandable, even if it's annoying to the fans.

But no way they would do it if they didn't have fun.

imagine low ticket prices for the STONES, it could be easily unmanageable.

im not saying that they don't like touring, but earning a few million can keep tempers from flaring.

"laughing all the way to the bank....fun stuff"

Then it is because of the kids- not for themselves.... all of them are good for 50 £ or more

Obviously! It's not like their skint and the amount of effort that goes into it. If they were that lazy they'd sit in on a residency at Vegas.

we the fans made them rich

Indeed we did make them rich and doing what they do because they love it is a fait accompli. When that feeling stops then so will the band but the question so often posed on this board these days is how many of us love unequivocally what they do?

Sure and there are some amongst us who who think everything the band does is above criticism and beyond reproach. Then there are those who take a more objective view of the band and who make pointed observations that draw the ire of the more fanatic and intolerant posters here and then of course you have those who post nonsense for the sake of doing so. Each is entitled to their own views but it is how one reacts to it that is perhaps the most telling.

Do you mean a good time on the tour, or while looking at the incomes?

Keith sure looked like he was having a good time in the European press conference! Seriously, it is obvious that they enjoy both the performing and the money. Mick and Keith in particular would perform until they dropped even if there was no money in it. Although if Mick was forced to perform for free he would probably go out in the parking lot afterwards and sell T-shirts just so the night wouldn't be a total financial loss.
