If you were to recommend one Jagger movie to a friend, which one would you suggest? I've only seen a couple of them myself, the most recent being "Freejack", which I rather enjoyed in spite of its mediocre ratings.

I would say 'The Man From Elsyian Fields', with, besides Jagger, Andy Garcia.

of course "the man from..." and "performance", two fabulous films.

He's a better producer than actor.

For me it's too hard to divorce Mick the frontman and Rolling Stone from Mick's character in a film and I'm always very self-aware of the Mick overall persona when I'm watching a film. Moreover, I don't think he's got the subtle skills needed to act on film, he'd be better on the stage . . . as he's proven with his live performances. That is, his gestures are rarely small, almost always grandiose, and that works on a stage in front of 50 thousand people, but no when the camera's close up. IMO.

Performance - great movie, Mick is adequate in the role.
Ned Kelly - truly dull film and Mick is badly cast in the lead
Running Out Of Luck - Mick takes the piss out of his own persona. A fun movie despite a lot of rubbish songs from his solo LP.
Freejack - crap film but Mick seems to enjoy his role and makes a decent effort.
