LK, I thought someone would mention Johnny Rotten, Sid V., Nancy, Malcolm Mc., and the rest. I just didn't know if they would be in the best or worst category!

Elmo...been a long time Pistols fan...got "bollocks" the day it came out in '77 (changed my life)..learned the bass, joined a band and the rest is not history smiling smiley...of course Sid was a joke, but when they we're a real band with Glen Matlock on bass, they were great!

Elmo, Tiny Tim was from NYC!! And please, don't slag this wonderful talent! The disc he made with Brave New Combo, "Girl", is a great collection of tunes.

Sorry to my British friends about that one (Tiny Tim). Never heard songs in question, KSIE. Falsetto and uke combo says it all for me.

I think British popular music is the best and the worst, what bugs me (and i am British by birth and I moved back 4 years ago after a brief 32 year absence) is that they really don't recognize the brilliance of some of their home grown greats. and not just the Stones, Queen seems much more popular here then the Stones,Zep or The Who. I don't mind Queen, they were a really good band but compared to those three not even close in my opinion.

I'd add The Animals, the Dave Clark 5, The Hollies and Gerry & The Pacemakers to the list of brilliant British Invasion bands. Too many to list, really! All good stuff!

OK, first Hendrix belongs to America! He was born in the state of Washington, was a war vet, para trooper but quit, said he was gay so he could play his music! A man after my own heart!
Here's my list of the BEST: Stones, Beatles, Who, Zeppelin, Animals, Yardbirds, Clapton, Kinks, Dave Clark 5, John Mayall, Union Jacks, mini skirts, Cream, Rod Stewart and Faces, Pink Floyd, T-Rex, the Crawdaddy Club, the Marqee Club, Bryan Ferry&Roxy Music and Princess Diana.
THE WORST: The Queen, Camilla, and warm beer. Everything else about the Brits I love!
