Sure, being at a Stone's show is superb! BUT - this Tour - I am amazed at the loving the band is getting. Oh but "they are rocking" "they are fantastic"....I'm sick of it !!!!!! Sorry - Jumping Jack Flash is fantastic for the 548 time again and again....

From the bootleg recordings they sound shit ! - you cannot hide this sound - THEY SOUND SHIT!!!!!!!! Can someone please explain???? "But youy aren't at the show"....sure, but they will sound GREAT being there, BUT their sound is still shit!
I just can't believe some of you guys think it is a great tour when basically half your "team" (aka Keith/Ron/Charlie) just wants to go home and collect the cash!

LICKS was another kind of tour, it was special, they did not have to promote a new album with new fans, they played for true fans, now they are playing for new people, try to understand!, it is a tour like Voodoo Lounge or B2B.- Think a little.

They can do so much with this Tour....and they have not so far....

I agree with Esky, and I went to 6 shows so far this tour. But it doesn't seem to matter people will still just say they are great and not take a long time fan's critisisms.You can still judge how well a band plays in my opinion by listening to the bootlegs, if this wasn't the case then how can we say they were so great in 72 when more than half of the people on this board didn't see them back then. Well I saw them in the 70s and plenty of times the last few months and I have been saddened by my boys lack of effort.

Listening to the 70's boot Let It Rock from Hamburg and the Columbus '05 show the newer show is better. It's the Stones. If you don't like the Stones, why exactly are you on this forum?

I have seen the Stones almost evrey tour since 1970 when I was a young kid, I loved the Licks tour, didn't think it could get any better. Don't like this tour so I sold my tickets for other shows because I felt let down. That was just my opinion.

If the sound is bad, it's because the sound at the venue is bad too !!
I have good recordings of this tour but not great ones, and these recordings are made with great taping gear. Its much more difficult to tape a Stones show nowadays than a Springsteen or Dylan show.

Esky doesn't seem to appreciate the current tour so much. So, what's the problem with that? Everybody is entitled to have their own opinion on this matter. I do respect his point of view, but for myself I will try to attend as many shows as possible when the band comes to Europe. I'll go to several gigs even if the setlist is static and even if Keith insists on playing the same two tunes every single night.....

OK JJF, how will you feel when at the end of this tour you realize that this was the last one? My guess is that you will regret the fact that you sold the tickets.

Sure people are certainly entitled to their opinions, however the opening post states that it is "superb" to be at a Stones show, yet it goes on to say that the show also sucks. You can't have it both ways Esky.

Have been to 1 show (Detroit) and enjoyed it. Will also attend Las Vegas and Phoenix. IMO, I would like to see more of ABB played. If it doesn't happen, I will still be happy that I saw the Stones in 2005.

No, the Stones do not suck. That is some pretty harsh and unwarranted criticism.

This tour IS the Stones. It's what they are, and if you don't like it, you USED to like the Stones.

You may not like it, but I do. And remember: The recording from Perth 73 also stinks, and they play way worse than on this tour (Not true for all Aussie 73 shows BTW).

I think I heard some stuff from this tour that is better than Perth 73 IMO. I don't like that concert. That just shows that it's individual. Nobody needs to "wake up" like Esky says.

He obviously bought the tickets and had made travelling commitments some time before the shows took place

If you've done that, its quite a wrench to not go at all and sell your ticket and cancel airfares, etc.

Strange that people who havent seen a show get bashed for not being there and saying they dont care for what theyve heard, yet someone who has seen a few and is somewhat underwhelmed gets the same stick for being honest and saying they werent as good as he hoped they'd be

Thanks Gazza. Good point, if you didn't go to the show and bash it you get torn apart here and if you went to a few shows your opinion still doesn't matter. And that is the case, I don't live in the US but got tickets to the show and stayed with friends I work with since my company has offices in NY.

To me You Got Me Rocking is ranked just as low as Back To Zero and I am sure everyone would be rolling their eyes if Back to Zero was a stample in the set list for the past 11 years. Stones could easily satisfy many more people with a fresh set list like they usually did with the start of each tour in the past.
