yeah i really do

i miss when

everybody was standing up from A to Z
you had none one to tell you to sit down at any part of the show.
as far as the seating, first come first serve

some could drink or smoke.
some got in the venue really high already.

many were coming dressed like their idol: jagger , bowie ,lou reed,...

The show was on stage and in the audience.

what s happen today??
everything is so straight.

felt a bit nostalgic today.
tommorrow would feel much better.

Cheers everyone

Phil

Gotta agree with you. Festival seating, everybody standing, smoking whatever you pleased (if you know what I mean) ... those were the days. You can still get that vibe however (except possibly for the smoking part) at smaller shows by newer artists, particularly if the venue is a bar and not a theater. It's kind of refreshing to go back to that now and then.

But for larger shows, things are pretty conservative nowdays with the restrictions on what you can and can't do, and all the boring fvckers who want everyone to sit down. I don't care if someone sits at a show, as long as they don't expect me to do the same!

in the US (California, anyway) smoking pot during the show is "assumed" and practically encouraged!

Better pot nowadays too,....er..uh... or so I'm told.

I for one don't miss the General Admission seating. Got tired of trying to save a location, and then getting crushed in a wave of B.O., vomit, piss, etc. when the band comes on. I remember spending six hours in the rain, with a cold, through Foreigner to hear the Stones in Philly 1978. Really a pretty miserable experience.

I miss the old days when people could smoke their cigarettes on airplanes, and when a beer only cost a fraction of what it cost today. And when I was still at school without any worries. Well not that I don't have that many worries now, but at least I never worried about Stones shows. Not before 1971. That was my old days.
