Honour & respect for Keith over at Rocks Off

Just take a look... [www.novogate.com] (scroll down)

"The Keith-is-a-genius thread" *

[yes! It is not wrong to critizise. That+s not the point...
But why always ridicule & jerk around a fine artistic cat
that may have used up all his nine lives - plus some more... ?]

* Would that happen here at iorr, that such a thread was initiated??

i think everybody here obviously worships keith richards/stones or they wouldn't be here....but wouldn't it be extremely tedious and boring if everybody always compliments but never criticizes?

No kiddin, for sure.
But less threads at RO on his teeth or possibly thinner hair etc...
...I aint following Shidoobee as tight as RO; but I imagine their not
either too occupied discussing hair dyeing, inplants and other heavy
issues we´re twistin here.

Btw Gary; where do you put your dime: Sweet Virginia or LC tonite?
Or would you throw it on No new song?

Jagger aint half as much critized as Keith; that may have
some odd group-psychological explanation... ? Like;
in all polls etc Keith´s the most popular member...
Without competition even... It´ like when you´re a boy
you can pick on dad, but not on mum... There we go again smiling smiley.

Personally, I dont expect anything different. More likely to be somewhere more 'high profile' like Philly

BTW - did you ever get that DVD I re-sent you some weeks ago?

I enjoy the Stones music, have a lot of respect and affection for all of them and they have been a huge part of my life for over 25 years but personally I dont believe in 'worshipping' anyone. Especially not someone I dont happen to know. Each to their own, of course, and nothing personal against people who are like that but its just not my thing. I find a lot of that 'hero' stuff a bit creepy when its taken to extremes and it must be very weird, if not scary, to be on the receiving end of that kind of idolatry. I also think its a lot to ask off someone to be thought of on those terms. Its too easy to get let down as these people are human with their own faults like the rest of us.

yes...theres few things more tedious for me than blind cheerleading. In its own way its as equally silly as just blindly slating everything someone does just because of who they are. Some perspective either way is much better as is having a reasonably constructive opinion on WHY something is either great or awful

Well, well, well... There must be some rats at the post offices
some where... Isnt this the 2nd time you send those?
...Maybe I jump on some ship here to Ulster & pick it up personally...
Nope, sorry, no dvds. Thanks for sendin anyway.
It´s like a curse with the 'celtic' countries and me receivin stuff from there btw; user "Deirdre", Eddie that is, posted me Brussels but the disc ( at least some track) was corrupt. Celtic curse... Anyway; he tried again & now there´s brussels in our house. In the middle of the street.

- How huge are the files? Are you used with Msn Messenger; do you have a fair connection...
Some of us continental kids & geezers trade thru that more & more often.
100-200-200 Mb per occasion to tuck in aint no problem,
if you have (e.g) dsl. Thats what I have.

I have my suspicions over what the dvds do contain: I really see forward
to hear & see ´em. You can PM me (retepno.... etc) & we may find a solution.
Good nite btw, hittin the ditch now.

I never tend to have a problem with packages going astray - I think that one got lost in 23 years of trading prior to the two I sent you!!!

I do have msn messenger and yahoo but the DVD isnt just the Montreux rehearsals stuff....I filled the disc with lots of other 72-73 stuff too...

I'll give it a 3rd go!

Wee I have nagged about more than ever about the setlist for an instance.
Hope I dont have to post anything (too) mean tomorrow.
Nite, everyone (=Gazza & Leonard?); See ya!

PS. Better worship livin rockers than dead; and better
worship rockers than politicians or dictators. DS

PPS. What I dont like is the pace-steady clappin oor shoutin in concerts,
the mass behaviours... Not bein to many bigger concert events since the 80s
I tend to be frightened at such events. I always clap in a backbeat.
Singin "Funky funky chicken" (on the inside) smiling smiley DDS.

i suppose there are probably people who "worship" them;
my impression is that a lot of us simply love the Rolling Stones -
not just their music, but the whole phenomenon: exactly the Rolling Stones, just as they are -
and it can be very hard to enjoy people constantly harping on the flaws of someone we love.
