$400 Stones Ticket vs. $400 worth of Stones Cds

simple question: if you had a choice what would you spend $400 on...a $400 stones ticket or $400 worth of stones cds (including bootlegs)....best to all

I'd go with the ticket.

a) I already have all the catalogue stuff
b) the boots come up in torrents
c) They're not going to be around for ever to see live, but the boots and catalogue will be.
d) They happen to be touring right now, they're not putting out $400 worth of CD's right now, at least not that I don't have.
e) a $400 dollar ticket is cheaper than a $450 ticket (lol)

If I didnt already have the CD's, I'd go with them.

The memories are more lasting and you can always have a blast at a concert for much less than that. That said, maybe I'd feel different if I'd never seen the band before as well

I dont buy boots. Dont see the point when I can get them in the same quality for the price of a blank - and even do/print my own artwork if I'm desperate to make it look better!

By the way, averaging out the $400 at 9.99 an album on iTunes, that's 40 albums.

assuming the ticket puts me front-center, i'd go with that...already have every boot i'll ever need/want.

do I win? which show?

CD's if I don't have them...

BUT... here's what I'd really do:

Buy a 170 ticket MAX, you can get a good one to any gig.

That leaves 230 bucks

Buy the stones best 10 CD's, you sure don't need more than that. Say that's 150 tops,

SO, you have 10 great CD's, a great ticket, and 80 bucks left to impress your date... buy her a nice Victoria Secret baby-doll or something.

No, Creedence - youre cheating. He asked you to choose - not friggin compromise and leave some money over to get yourself laid!

Not a bad idea, though. The only problem is that ten cds isn't nearly enough. It would be a good start, however.

That's an easy question: I'd go for the cd's / bootlegs. No show on earth is worth that amount of money.

since we're talking fantasy-world here - how about if we make that ticket for the 7/26/72 MSG show?

Gazza, too funny.

Okay, so in that case Creed would

a) take the ticket,

b) put it up on ebay

c) have a "buy it now" price of $400

d) charge $50 for shipping and handling

e) take the $440 he makes to then

f) purchase a $170 ticket and

g) buy 9 CD's @ 9.99 on iTunes, for 90 bucks and finally

h) use the remaining money to buy his girlfriend a gift because she's so mad at him for ignoring her because he's spending so much damn time on ebay selling his ticket and then on iTunes buying more bloody Stones albums. Most of all she's mad at him because when he got his $440 dollars from his ebay deal he only bought one ticket @ $170, not two, and she has to miss the concert because he spent 90 bucks on CD's.

Ultimately, he doesn't get laid, but at least she's not going to kill him.

Stones/Metallica 2nd price level seat - $160
T-Shirt - $36
Bigger Bang Box Set from Japan - $204

I was in Japan last week, and had to buy the "Bigger Bang Tour Box Set". It cost me about $200 US, and I have it all already, but it was too cool to pass up. Each of the CD's from 70-80 (SF, Exile, GHS, IORR, B&B, Some Girls, ER, Tatoo You) in sleeves reproducing every detail of the original packaging, including little versions of the posters and inner sleeves. Each individually wrapped, with obi; all housed in a separat "souvenier tour" box numbered to 10,000.

I would go for the concert. I sold a lot of my stuff to finance some US concerts this time. My memories of the concerts are still so update and I would not like to miss them with any CDs or bootlegs instead.
