New York vs. Chicago vs. San Francisco Bay

Anyone notice that for Chicago the Stones wear jeans and t-shirts and for New York they wear Gold Lame jackets ??

If you want the "tea and crumpets" version, go to New York... but if you want the blue jean version of the songs, you gotta come to CHICAGO !!

Regardless, New York always gets the best and longest shows from our guys. It's a fact going all the way back to '69. And I live in Milwaukee !!

It's interesting that when you look at total metro population vs. total number of shows, for large metro areas only, the San Francisco/Oakland area probably comes out as the Stones "Number One Venue", considering 12 shows there between the last 3 tours: VooDoo Lounge, B2B, and Forty Licks.

Chicago would be number 2, with 13 shows but a larger population base than SanFrancisco Bay, and New York would be number 3, with 14 shows and a much larger metro area yet.

And 3 shows on No Security.............5 if you count Sacramento shows which is an easy cruise up the freeway from SF. Plus TWO stadium shows( 40K Ea.) on the first leg of ABB tour. And my fingers are crossed for an arena show in March!!!!!!!!!!

The No Security gigs are lumped in with the B2B count, I think...

I wouldn't necessarily include Sacramento with SF Bay, even though it's an easy drive... if we do that we have to add Hartford and Philly to NYC, Milwaukee and Madison to Chicago, etc.

But you could definitely include the San Jose shows in SF Bay, which would put San Francisco even further ahead. They must have had at least 3 San Jose shows during this period, if not more.... and make the Bay Area the true "epicenter" of Rolling Stones fandom in the U.S.!

You've never heard the term "Bay Area" ? Just to clarify I add "San Francisco" so we're sure what Bay we're talking about.

right - they call it the Bay Area - and if that's not specific enough (as opposed to Tampa, for instance) - then San Francisco Bay Area is used. But it is never locally referred to San Francisco Bay...which I found liberally used on this thread.

Did King Kong ever roam around the Bay Area..?? I mean he was big so he would have only had to take about 20 steps and he'd have been there....just wondering.
