In 1967 "Forever Changes" was easily the greatest album of the year even beating "Are you experienced?". That one album especially heard in mono is such a high point in rock history. "Da Capo" had a terrific side 1 but was overshadowed by other better wax like "Aftermath", "Revolver", "Blonde on Blonde", "Ogden's Nut Gone Flake", and of course the seminal PET SOUNDS.
Oh my gosh! Somebody flagellate me .... I forgot the best Cream album of all time ..."Fresh Cream" the American mono version of course with "I Feel Free". Of course I like "Spoonful" but that song seemed anti-climactic as the first track on side 1 for that album. For once the Americans got it right (along with the USA version of "Rubber Soul") I will humbly give the nod to the Brits for every other release ever. Man, you gotta love the UK mono version of "Are you experienced"....
Compile the best Stones ballads on a cd, bring that, some good wine and your best love making spirit to your girlfriend, old lady or who ever you love! That way you will have a great time together!
