I think it's obvious that only playing 3 new songs at each show isn't going to help promote their new album that much. They need to play more new songs like they used to and like other prominent bands with new material do. They should be playing at least 5 or 6 new songs a night, if not 7. They would still have room for a few rarities and all the warhorses anyone could hope for. They need to play their singles to promote the album as well as potential singles.
These are the songs that I think they should play at every show so that people understand that they are still making good music and they aren't some nostalgia act.
-Rough Justice
-Streets of Love
-Back Of My Hand
-Infamy
-Oh No Not You Again
-She Saw Me Coming
-Look What The Cat Dragged In/Dangerous Beauty (the 2 randoms but should be played)
I don't think it's unreasonable for the Stones to go on tour and play a lot of new songs as well as the understandable favorites for the mediocre fans. I think the following setlist could easily work for the Stones...
1. Rough Justice (open with a new song and let them know u still f-ing rock)
2. Tumblin' Dice
3. Let's Spend The Night Together (or even Hang Fire, Get Off.. or Mother's..)
4. She Saw Me Coming
5. Bitch
6. Back Of My Hand
7. Gimme Shelter
8. Ruby Tuesday
9. Beast of Burden
10. Shattered
11. Satisfaction
12. Little T&A
13. Infamy
14. Start Me Up (b-stage)
15. Oh No Not You Again (b-stage)
16. Miss You (b-stage)
17. Brown Sugar (b-stage coming back into main stage)
18. Out of Control
19. Look What The Cat Dragged In or Dangerous Beauty
20. Street Fighting Man
21. Streets Of Love (encore) (don't knock it, it could work and ppl would sing along)
22. Jumpin' Jack Flash (encore)
I know this looks really basic like a 40 Licks set or something, but I think it's feasable and if the boys want to please the audience and push their new material effectively I think this could work.
