Gotta love the extended verson of...

Streets of Love.

Honestly don't know why so many dislike it so much. Is it any worse than Lady Jane, As Tears Go By, Play with Fire Ruby Tuesday et al? ANyone here remember those? Really?

Lyrics bad?

Surely two words - "onerous orders" (which sounds more like "onerous odors" to me) - in Dangerous Beauty is worse than an awful lot of awfuls.

And "the moon is yellow, I'm like jello, staring down your tits" in ONNYA, and

"Bare your Breasts" in This Place is Empty....

Puh-lease.....

THOSE are bad lyrics.

I agree. There's nothing wrong with staring down some tits once in a while.Streets Of Love shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as Ruby Tuesday,Play With Fire or Already Over Me for that matter. If you ask me,it is not as good as Lady Jane or As Tears Go By either.I do like Let Me Down Slow very much ,however.

Most of those other ballads mentioned are very old and were written by guys in their early 20's. Now the lines today are by a man in his 60's. Different criteria applies, no?
Still Keith does come up with some zingers. As many great classic lines he has - he also has his shares of head shakers. "Can't be Seen" is embarrassing from start to finish. And IMO "Infamy" just isn't that ...cute. It reminds me of this cut on Voodoo Residue with a lyrical idea that is funny for one take and then should be put to rest. I think it's called "You got away with murder".

Streets of Love is one of the best songs on the album. It's better than the hideous Already Over Me.

And I think the lyrics to Oh No are f-ing hilarious!

Well, all you native-English speakers should envy us that aint.
At least me I dont have any problems with any lyrics; maybe
some passages in SNC & some else. I just hear music & words.
Even if I get the lyrics, they dont stuck - or, if they ever do:
they stuck cause the harmony och melody line get caught in my brain´s
jukebox.
I believe there were some extraordinary creativity out there in the mid-,
late-60´s and earliest 70´s (plus around 78). It is not fair to set
the standards much higher cause the 'boys' are over 60:
All good songs (well, at least most of them...) are already written,
same with the good rock lyrics.
Its amazing what they have achieved, if you ask me.
But it´s also a good thing they have a iron strong test panel here.

If SOL had been indicative of the whole album then I would say it was absolutely dreadful. However, having heard the full album, I can live with it.
