1 Oh no, not you again (it's a killer. Could have been on some girls)
2 Back of my hand (a wonderful blues)
3 Driving too fast (reminds me voodoo lounge sound)
4 Infamy (a very very good surprise)
5 Rough justice
6 She saw me coming (makes me think of "hey negrita")

Hard to get any wiser of these two opinions. Eleven different songs of twelve possible.
And none of you mentioned This Place Is Empty which I find very nice.
Have only listened to the four tracks at rs.com. Look forward to listen to the entired album.

Ah Ah, Only three songs were mentioned:

-Sweet NeoCon
-Streets of love
-Rain Fall Down

Who likes them ?
I think they should not be on the album.
Without them, the album would be almost perfect.

Look what the cat dragged in wasnt mentioned either

I like Rain Fall Down...SOL and LWTCDI are fine..I'd expect LWTCDI to grow on me more, though. SOL would have been a good cut on a Jagger solo record..it seems out of place on a Stones album and ISNT a single.

Sweet NeoCon is the only 'dog' on the album for me..its not unlistenable, however

I don't get why more folks aren't more jacked up about SSMC. Their most instantly classic song since possibly SMU. It's got it ALL. Everthing I hope for in a Stones tune.

My top 6 (to be changed over time, naturally):

SSMC
Rain Fall Down
Cat Dragged In
Back of My Hand
Let Me Down Slow
Infamy

T&A, i am completely jacked up by SSMC! best track of the record if there was no LIND which is not only the best track of ABB but also their best ballad since... dare i say '73... yes i do.

so my 6 tracks choice is

LIND
SSMC
LWTCDI
INFAMY
RJ
IWTL

then comes SNC...

The jury's still out for me on L,IND - once again I'm not convinced by Mick's vocals....and the song seems to be lacking a "payoff." I hear folks talking about it as a next-generation Beast of Burden (I don't see similarities with BoB at all - Keys to Your Love was the next gen of that classic - and a great tune in its own right). With L,IND I'm hearing more of an OOC type song without the payoff. I hope my liking of this tune improves over time.

agree on BOB and KTYL (the only decent tune from 40licks IMHO)
but L,IND is in a completely different league than OOC i think
it plays with Worried About you, Tops etc...but the quality of the song calls for Shine a light, Let i loose, Wild Horses, I got the blues (imo)
The pay off for me is beautifully understated in the gospel chorus. OOC to me suffers from its flat 2notes refrain (same problem with YGMR or IGW or OOT on VL)

okay - Maurizio - I will keep working on it. Meanwhile - as I listen to the complete HQ versin of SNC - I'm not getting why all the negative vibes about SNC (lyrics aside - and they are not THAT bad - they work pretty well thematically with the subject matter). Musically - it's among the more interesting songs on ABB. Understated, powerful, IMO. I think this one will grow on listeners.

The ones I really don't like, aside from SOL:

IWTL
Dangerous Beauty

these again suffer from over-the-top Jagger vocals and are just lacking musically, IMO.

Minimalism rules OK!!!

SNC is a fervent but childish poltical sermone from jagger
i don't buy it even if i am not a neocon supporter

but musically i think it has many things a good stones funk should have: good (that is groovy, dirty) guitar breaks, good interpretation from mick (that grows on the second part of the song when he let it loose), keyboards that provide a kind of buzz instead of being a decoration or simulating some other instrument as matt and chuck and mick too often like them to be, nice groove.

i keep SNC in my edited version of ABB that is

RJ
IWTL
BOMH
SSMC
LWTCDI
TPIE
ONNYA
L,IND
SNC
DTF
I

42,25min > classic
