Let's Spend The Night Together - Teddy Brown & The Discolettes
----------------------------------------------------- Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
There was a album put out a few years back. I think it was Paint it Blue. It had artists doing Blues versions of Stones songs. There was a dude named ...I can not recall...bet someone lese knows. Maybe Youngblood?? Anyway he does a FANTASTIC version of "Moonlight Mile".
Paint it Blue it was...that's where the Copeland "Dice" one is from as well as Moonlight Mile. Really a great add to the collection. I never got the country or reggae one...anyone know if they're any good???
4tylix if you are referring to "Stone Country" then IMO it was no good at all. The version srae run of the mill; just what you'd expect. Maybe a lukewarm rendition of "Dead Flowers" by Steve Earle. The worst I recall was that fool ..doing Hony Tonk Woman. Some little wannabe cowboy.
travis tritt is the guy I was trying to remember who butchered HTW. 4tylix you are so right - the Stones are a mean country band. Really no need for them to be covered by Country, Blues artists. They do it all themselves. Maybe reggae, but even there they are pretty tough.
1) Joan Baez: No Expectations... just mournful, extremely impressive rendition.
2) Johnny Winter: Jumpin' Jack Flash... don't miss Johnny if he's on tour BTW, unbelieveable guitar talent.
3) Motley Crue: Street Fighting Man... Just love Mick Mars' grinding version of the lead guitar on this. Tommy Lee interviewed said they think they'll open at least once for the stones this tour, they're major fans and that would be one KNOCKOUT CONCERT!!! Would be nice if you could understand a few of the words Vince is singing on their SFM version, however!
Johnny Winter And - JJF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like the Black Crowes encore versions of Happy, good times. That CYHMK-version is passable, but they've got the Stones better on Torn & Frayed and Tumbling Dice. It would be interesting to hear Marc Ford with Keith, probably be somewhere between Mick taylor and Ronnie. And then Rich Robinson on slide with Keith. Where's my boot of Ronnie with the Crowes?

I think you mean Jewel. Yeah this girl has an AWESOME voice, great cover!!!!
Hey! What about Get off my Cloud Alexis Korner and keith .......mmmm nice! ......and....Under my thumb.....Steve Winwood [I think it was Blind Faith actually....sounds like Ginger on the drums]......I really like that version... .Steve Winwoods voice is so amazing and his playing [keyboards/ guitar] too...........For all you Chuckhaters out there, maybe Steve could take over keyboards for the stones, and for all you Ronnie knockers he might even be able to fill Ronnies shoes as well!?!?!?!?!?
