Everbody thinks BB will be a killer album after listening to the samples?

It's hard to judge by only hearing those samples but my first impression is that only Rough Justice, Back of my hand, ONNYA and Driving to fast stand out.
Rest mediocre and Keith his songs boring same old stuff.
No where near SM, Tattoo, BandB, not to mention Exile, LIB or SF

It's so hard to tell with those small samples....the buzz is great from the people who've heard the entire album on a great sound system. I'll trust the buzz!

YES!

erikjjf, do you think VL and BtB were also killers? To me those two albums were not bad, better than DW for ex., but would have made one real good album combined some 12 songs.

agreed , although i think voodoo lounge is the stones best work since tattoo you
but i think a bigger bang is going to be pretty good also

I'll never understand the negative rantings about VL.....great album, great guitars....much diversity.....what's not to like?

My first impression is BB will not be better than UC, an underrated album in my opinion.

My prediction: Bigger Bang will be the best since Some Girls and just slightly better than Voodoo which I love. Undercover? Huh, only played that one two times the last ten years. Will put it on tonight, but I don´t expect to listen to a classic.

nobody owns the answer to your question. all personal opinions. based on what very little we've all heard - sounds like BB has a chance to be a contender for best album (In My Humble Opinion) among those dating back as far as '85, possibly '83. Don't hear anything yet that would take it beyond TY, SG or any of the Big Four.

Not a classic but Too tough, She was hot, Must be hell, All the way down are for me 'basic Stones' UC is special and To much blood is a great dance track.
So much better than DW. Why I also like it better than VL is that it does not have ballads (I am bored with both Mick and Keith their ballads)

Tomestones, the last week or so I've put on old cd's that I haven't listen to in a while and your right about UC, It's not a classic in fact I found myself skipping alot of songs and more so with DW (One Hit and Too Rude are the best on DW imo)the rest are fillers and not very good fillers.

I like VL a lot and B2B was a Disappointment for me but there are some cool tracks on that one.

ABB from the samples sound like a great one, probably the best since Tattoo you.

it`s hard to judge by hearing just seconds.....BUT:
BB to me has a typical sound groove from the 70`s...which I do love very much
and I also prefer the diversity of the songs heard so far.
But after hearing 4 songs in complete and the rest bitwise I have that deep feeling in me that A BIGGER BANG will indeed be kind of a killer album,
though I do not want to compare it to other albums...which is nonsense for me anyway.
Each album stands on its own.
Exile was about 30 years ago....it was a killer that time and is a classic right now...so was SF....and so on.
Bigger Bang could be a killer in 2005.....and seems to have the potencial to be judged as a classic after 10-15 years.

see u on A BIGGER BANG tour

Yes. Well not just by listening to 30 seconds samples. Also by listening to the songs live and whater else is available out there.

You can't really judge the album on listening to short snippets, and to do so would be very narrow minded in deed.Same boring stuff from the Riff Master your definately talking bollocks mate.

Absolute bollocks from start to finish. Title should have been :

"Too old, Too Lazy and Too Rich"

or

"Never Mind the Rolling Stones, Here's the Bollocks"

or

"A Barrelfull of Bollocks"

What rubbish. These songs took all of 10 minutes to write and record. No Depth melodically or lyrically. Horrible sound/production. I guarantee you there's not one good guitar lick in the the whole mess. This reminds me of waiting 7 years for Stanley Kubricks last movie, "Eye Wide Shut". The die-hard fans tried desperately to find "greatness" and "depth" in it but any moron off the street could knew it was a load of bollocks from an artist who had lost his mojo. Diehard Stones fans will rave, people will buy the record but in a year or 2 it will be shelved and never listened to again. A brave but sad swan song.

Wow......I do believe Rough Justice gives the album great hope. This song is a killer track and could fit in with any of the legendary Stone's albums. Let us wait on the finished product.

Stones Song in German election campaign
Posted by: KingBee ()
Date: August 14, 2005 01:33

Hello

I just want to inform you that the German chancellor candidate Angela Merkel from German Conservatives CDU is using the song "Angie" for her election campaign.
I can´t imagine the Stones having allowed this. She´s a member of a party who was banning particular Stones songs in Germany until 20 years ago.

Best regards
Sebastian

Well it's not gonna be a 60's 70's 80's or 90's album. It's gonna be a '05 album and it's The Stones, can't be all that bad. Rough Justice and Back Of My Hand sound good. But I wont jump to the conclusion of calling an album that is yet to be released a classic. Classic's take time to become a classic. Let It Bleed was not a "classic" when it came out. It is now. Then it was popular music.

I think the new CG will be the best in different ways,,

When is the last time they had such a diverse CD

Back of My hand blues

RJ ROCK

And political punch with Neo Con?

Funny I loved VL

But RJ stays in my head and won't go away

Love is strong did not have that effect though I likes it a lot

Timing is everything this CD mixes the fine straight ahead rock with sufo political thought and old time blues

When was the last time you could say that?

VL Great bit did not say as much and not as foundational stones

I mean Laugh I nearly died>

Very reflective

I don't know if best worst or in the middle but diiferent deeper and thoughful and rocking

A hard cobo but Stones did it

bollocks. RJ is a throwaway rocker that could never have fit on some of the Stones better albums. I like some of what I hear so far on the album - but RJ is a nothing but a pleasant little "nothing" rocker, IMO.
