The filler discussion is always a dubious one as different people will say an album is 'filled' in a different way! Like some say on VL "Brand New Car" was unneccessary, other say it could have done without "Mean Disposition" or "Sparks Will Fly".
This means that as all songs seem to have a meaning to someone somewhere, I won't take a position there. In general, I think that three or four comparable rockers with a steady beat, a snearing lyric and hard but weakly inspired guitar licks will tend to be described as "too much".
The Keith songs like TPIE are always charming in a Paolo Conte way, like the piano player at your hotel bar whose playing and personality you can't but love, otherwise you'd leave. They are touching for their charm arent they.
What do you think of the (variety of) the drumming?
