GOOD POINT, BUT ON THE LICKS TOUR THEY WERE ANNOUNCED RIGHT AWAY

he didn't lie. he communicated what the "thinking" was at the time. plans change. i don't understand why people can't just accept that. there's not always an "angle."

thats all

it's alwasy subject to change - always has been. that's implied. look what happened to the TOTA - never made it south of the border. circumstances, conditions and planning change. folks should assume that upfront. cohl did his job, IMO.

saying he was lying implies he was purposely deceitful...no way he was. for what purpose -to get folks to buy pre-May 9 memberships? yeah, right....

He said that would be the price. I am sure he ment rougly. Just to state that club shows would have a lower price, if they happened. He did not say there would be any club shows. Big difference. And ok so he lied. They did only charge 10 Canadian dollars which is 8 US dollars. And remember the tour haven't even started yet. So it's a bit early to say they don't play club shows, when:

a). the only thing they have done is actually play... a club show...
b). all other shows of the tour are yet to happen...

The word "if" wasnt mentioned. Which would make it justifiable to assume that they would indeed take place. People bought memberships on the strength of that. I'd consider that misleading information.

Comparing a warm-up show to a theatre show during the tour isnt quite the same. The warm up shows are always basically a give away price-wise - the Palais Royale show wasnt sold the same way as the theatre shows on the last tour (ie, pre-sales, online sales, etc)

There will be club shows, don't worry, but they will announce them very shortly before they really happen like they did on tours before Licks.

Of course we will get club shows. We just need to be patient. When the Wembleys have sold out they will play them for sure.3 reasons why

1.Good for publicity
2.Good for recording
3.They enjoy them

Yeah wahwahwoody, which screws us fans that live in out of the way rural places and cannot get anywhere affordably on short notice. So really the unfairness there leaves just as bad of a taste in my mouth as not having them. I assume, perhaps wrongly, that you live in or near a major metro area where this may happen and have the sort of job / life where you could drop almot everything and attend on a few days /hours notice. Many of us cannot.

as for the warm up gigs they are almost always in toronto
what good is that for the rest of us

Perhaps. But, again to really nail Cohl as a "liar" you'd have to prove that he knew he was intentionally misleading the public for some purpose. No such evidence exists.
