Jumpin Jack Flash has been played live more than any other song. No question.
HTW was hardly played at all in 1972 and on the Aussie tour in 1973. JJF has ALWAYS been in the set and has only been left out of a concert on about two or three occasions at the most (there was one show on the last tour when they didnt play it - was it Enmore? - I cant think of any others)
Brown Sugar has also been a constant in the set since being debuted at Altamont, again with only a tiny number of times when it was excluded.
Tumbling Dice would be fourth. TD has been a near constant since its 1972 debut,
Satisfaction whilst having been first played in '65, was dropped for several years from 1972 to 1989 apart from a few shows in 1978 and Knebworth in '76.

oops..forgot that one. Cheers. It was constant in 82 and regular in 81
they also did it in 72 with "Uptight" at a few shows, but generally it was left off. So I guess theres about 200 shows from 1972 to 1981 where they didnt play it at all.
Brown Sugar has never been dropped except for a couple of times on recent tours
Tumbling Dice, Brown Sugar and JJ Flash have pretty much, with a tiny number of exceptions, been played at every show since their debuts
Honky Tonk Women was debuted in concert in Hyde Park and has been also pretty much constant apart from only being played at a couple of shows in 1972 and some of the Australian tour in 73
Its amazing that Tumbling Dice falls in this category with songs like Satisfaction, JJF and BS. To me its not even the best song on Exile and the way they play it these days its all back-up singers and horns. Hope something else like 19th Nervous Breakdown or whatever takes its place in the set list.
I have been to 40 stones concerts since 1975 and at everyone of them these are the only four that have been played at everyone of them. Honky tonk, JJF, Brown sugar and Tumbling dice.
I respectfully disagree. I think that TD includes one of KR's simplest yet most brilliant riffs. The vamp outro is rock n' roll magic. Every incarnation (MT, horns, Lisa/Bernard) of the outro is a different take on the brilliance of the studio version. Great lyrics, too. Still have my fuzzy dice from the Atlantic City 89 show.
SFM was also kind of erratic in 78. They closed with it fairly often but not all shows. Was Sweet Black Angel used ONLY those times in 72? It is interesting that almost all of Exile has been tried at least once live at one time or another. There' are those from Side 3 Turd, Just wanna see and Let it Loose. And Casino Boogie. Only ones right? Hip Shake???

They played it at couple of early shows in '81 and then it wasnt played again until Europe 1990. It hasnt actually been that much of a regular since - it was played only sporadically on BTB and was mostly an 'arena' song on the last tour.
I read once that its a song Mick isnt exactly crazy about, which may explain its relative lack of performances compared to most of the 'warhorses'
Ah, I see. I really thought that it was played on many concerts in 1989 and 1990. Haven't checked frayed.org though. I'm not a big fan of the SW/UJ tour. I'm more a VL, B2B and Licks kindda guy.
I totally agree with you JKF but I have to say: some of the best boots I have heard from the Stones Mach III era (post 89) are from the SW/UJ tour. Sister M has some killer shows from that tour. "Cold Steel Blue" and the Johannesburg show rock my sox.
I know. I heard a fewof hem I think. Also, the DVDs from the VL tour. Man, I haven't seen a bad one yet. I like the South American concerts a lot. Both from VL and B2B.
um ... okay, i'll put it bluntly, if i must: the vocals on R&R Circus SotE weren't pre-recorded, and that includes Keith's vocals. Gazza was just checking to see if anyone was paying attention. :E
