I'd like Chelsea offered half that amount for Figo...

They offered 73 million + Crespo (who still is a chelsea player). Crespo must be worth 12 million.

The transfer of Drogba was a mistake... they know that now.
He's a player for Scunthorpe United.

Figo is nearly a free transfer.
Newcastle Utd are negotiating with him.

Abramovich is obviously money laundering through his play thing (Chelsea FC). It will all end in tears ....

Figo WAS worth, Riffbuck. But nowadays... Of course he's still a great player, but I feel he wasn't able to recycle his style as he can't run so quickly as he used to.

Sorry to disagree with you Bruno . but when Luxemburgo took him away from the team , it was downhill for Real.and before that it was him and Owen who carried all the team on his shoulders.and about being a free transfer .....Free is a lot of money

I myself prefer Beckham on the right wing. If Figo was the '03 Figo I'd agree with you, but nowadays I prefer Beckham in that position.

My point is that Figo wasn't able to recycle himself to another style, and it would be great as he is one of the best quality-wise. But you can base your playing in dribbling when you're not faster that the opposite defenders anymore. See how Lothar Mathaus (sp?) recycled himself from forward positions to midfield to almost defender positions.

Anyway, the next Champions League will be for Real Madrid grinning smiley

If Real can choose, they will rather let Figo leave than to let him stay.
He's 32 (or maybe 33), he's very cheap to buy... maybe free.

Beckham lost everything when he joined Madrid.
He was a part of the greatest midfield of the last ten years (Giggs, Keane, Scholes, Beckham)... but he had to play central midfield with Real and that's not his position... that's one of the reasons why Madrid hasn't performed: defensive midfielders... probably the most important position in a team.
