"TORONTO (Reuters) - Bryan Adams and Celine Dion will perform for Canada's Live 8 concert, but Rolling Stones fans expecting an appearance by the British rock legends get no satisfaction, organizers said on Tuesday.

Concert promoter Michael Cohl, who represents the Stones and is organizing the Canadian event, said he never even suggested the idea to his famous friends.

"I never asked them to play this show," he told Reuters after a news conference announcing the lineup. "If they were playing, they'd be playing in London. They belong in London." "

No Stones and you'll have to deal with big long weekend traffic jams
north of the city towards Barry. Forget it.

Well, it's a shame really. But anyhoo: Something on Live8 is worth seeing. Pink Floyd WITH Waters, Macca (Of course), Sex Pistols.

I have been so disappointed with the Canadian press on this thing. It's like it's another (SARS) tourism promotion. Instead of talking about 'the cause' it's how good it would be for Toronto's economy...oh no....they want it in Barrie....what about Toronto...whine whine whine.

Well it is for a good cause,
or at least drawing folks attention to
it, but sadly the Canuck lineup is pretty lame
as a whole and the location sucks.
