Birthdays This Weekend?

Yours truly's falls on June 17 (I'll be 48); Paul McCartney's is June 18; Brian Wilson's is June 20. Not bad company to have, eh?

Anyone else in the community have a birthday this weekend?

I got a copy of Macca's "Back in the US" live CD from the library, and I'll probably revisit "Smile" (the concert DVD is being released today). I took tomorrow off, and June 20 is West Virginia Day (holiday for state employees).

The four-day-long party starts--right now.

Happy Birthday bassplayer!

Have a great time listening to Back in the US and SMiLE. I saw one of the McCartney shows from that tour, and i love the intro, with hello goodbye, (the big guitar chords etc) always takes me back to the show, where the stage and video screens all changed and there was this huge silhouette of the hofner bass, and then the screens move up and Paul + band are revealed, straight into Hello Goodbye. Amazing!

I didnt know Brian Wilson's b-day was on Monday. I am seeing him in London on Wednesday! The SMiLE DVD is great, LOADS of material to watch, the aftershow reactions from the crowd are just amazing, gives you a lump in the throat just seeing the love that the fans have for brian. And the link between these two artists is that Macca's current drummer and guitarist/bass player are in the SMiLE dvd giving their reactions after the first show at the Royal Festival Hall.

Enjoy your weekend!

We will get strung up because this message contains nothing about the stones!

Thanks, everyone. Mr.Edward, that's a fine-looking birthday cake LOL. Mr. Jimmy, thanks for sharing those thoughts on Macca & Brian.

BTW, I also got "The Concert for George (Harrison)" on DVD from the library. Some great performances on there from Eric Clapton, Paul, Ringo, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, the Ravi Shankar Orchestra, and even the surviving members of Monty Python (except John Cleese).

Of course, I will make time to crank up some Stones today. I got the '73 European Tour & '78 US Tour playlists ready to go.

Time for my first of many beers for the day.
