Why not, a cover for next record?

It would be great to hear a good cover like they were:"just my imagination", "ainĀ“t to proud to beg", "harlem shuffle", "love train"...etc.
They are masters to change these songs and give them a special and "stone" touch.
Remember "going to a go go", what a great cover.
My proposal is a cover of a Motown song. Which one?.
Anyone knows who wrote the song "Sctricly Memphis? (in R. Stones bootlegs)" and "i've been lonely for so long" (Mick Jagger-Wandering Spirit)?.

The Stones are usually brilliant at doing covers, and I wouldn't mind seeing another one on the new album. However, the one cover they've done in recent times that I don't care for much was Dylan's "Like A Rolling Stone", even if the title screamed out for their attention.....

Ride like the wind at double speed.....

A unexpected one but a real smasher would be
"Deanna" by Nick Cave... or the Dolls song "Vietnamese baby"... ?

If the Stones covered I've Been Lonely for So Long, as suggested above, that would be a cover of a cover. Jagger included that song on Wandering Spirit.

Wakie wakie Pserchia ... Star star didn't suggest they re-record I've Been Lonely but asked who wrote the song.

'Congo Square' by Sonny Landreth. John Mayall covered it a few years back...

No covers, we have been waiting long enough for new Jagger/Richards songs so lets have an album full of new tunes, save the covers for the shows.

A fab cover would be - You're My Heart, You're My Soul with MT, i.e. Modern Talking.

Babbon Bro recommended John Holmes which was a big surprise, 'cause I thought John was only into humping. You learn something new everyday.

If I'd want them to cover a song, then it should best be one that I don't know yet, so I cannot name it here.

How about going back into Ronnie's roots and playing an old Faces tune. That would be fun.

I'd like to hear them officially release We Had It All. It would follow the recent trend of Keith doing a ballad on each album.

BUDDY HOLLY - Crying Waiting Hoping

Amazing tune. They need to cover it live.
