....then what sonic label should be attributed to Ronnie?

The term for Ronnie's playing (at least during his tenure with the Stones) is this: viagraphonic. Extended duration, with short & sweet spurts of bliss LOL. Actually, I think he would like that description.

Actually, bassplayer, viagrophonic is an adjective, while what is 'required' is a noun,(from which adjectives are derived); the noun is Viagra, which does not strictly have aural properties (?).

But if all else fails, we can INVENT a noun......such as Vigrato!

Ideally, however, something linguistically different from Mick Taylor's attribute, (to avoid CONFUSION you understand!).

Well, neither Bill nor Mick. T is in the Stones anynore - Ronnie is playing his part in agreement with Keith......

He / they are doing exactly the same on the records...... Keith / Mick writing basically all the music...

Neither Mick T., Ronnie nor Bill have had anytning major / descent music to show up with the last almost 30 years..... so what are they comlaining about.....

Let's look forward to the press conference in two weeks and enjoy the last few (couple) yearas with the Stones.....

To be straight - musically (more than Mick and Keith), who has done anything descent recently...... nobody..........

Musically - rock music or similiar has been very tranquille / silent lately..... just wander why.....

Spasmaural? (meant in a non derogataural sense)

Sporadically spastic, inconsistently fluid.

Facial expressions extreme.

Mediocre...moronic. Sup-par.

Average.

Meanwhile, Ronnie Wood was at the Hyde Park show, saying, "Yeah, I'll be there". He wanted to be a Stone even then, little realizing the price that making this deal would cost him.

Totally bassplayer. Watch out what you wish/pray for. Or, god protect me from the things that I want.

I ain't stupid, I'm just guitarded.

Unorthodox

Miscalculated

Spontaneous outbursts

Tries too hard, yet not enough

All I'm saying is that he needs to be himself, and not let the the history and standards of Mick Taylor's excellence get to his head. We can see that he tries and concentrates, but sometimes he tries and concentrates a bit too hard and screws things up. He needs his own signature "voice", and shouldn't be intimidated by the Mick Taylor legacy. I've seen him shred a few nice licks here and there over the years, but they are always too few and far in between.

maybe mr wood can say Good Vibrato instead of good morning each day and by
osmosis his playing will improve with age, like a fine red wine, ready to be opened and discovered.

If you like Keith's style then why criticize Ronnie; they mesh. He's not Mick T and will never be nor should he try.
