Anybody remember this concert and is it still the largest crowd in the uk? and why was they so late coming on?

I was there - it was a long wait. 10cc were good as was Rundgren. A guy came on and jerked off (God knows why or what to). The Big Tongue stage inflated, then we were off......

In BW's book 'Rolling With The Stones' it shows a photo he took from the helicopter as he was arriving, incredible. It also states that: "The Stones went on stage four hours late as someone pulled some cables at the last minute".

According to Sounds (defunct English rock mag) Mick flounced onstage with the classic opening line "Ello Knobworth, sorry we're late but you can sleep tomorrer."
