One of my all time favorite female singers, I was fortunate enough to see her in a small club with Ian Hunter and Mick Ronson back in the late 70's. She autographed a picture of her for me and I still have it to this day. She definitely could rock!!!!

maybe it's just her charm, but the way she moves in this video makes all modern music videos seem lame and boring :-) it's so chilled out.

I recently grabbed a copy of the album this is from, Nightout - a fun record, Hunter and Ronson playing on it all the way through. Glossy production but loose performances, like this cut.

Fantastic version of a real classic Stones number just wish Mick would revive this song?

Her second record ain't bad either. Contains a handfull of Strummer/Jones cuts. The Blockheads appears on it too

Many forget that it's her singing on Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell, although in the video for Paradise By The Dashboard Light it's Carla Devito(?) that's lip synching the words.
I recently read that she dated one of the Clash members and that Should I Stay or Should I Go was written about their situation.
She also starred in the NBC series Night Court back in the early 80's.

<<I recently read that she dated one of the Clash members >>

She was with Mick Jones for a while
She appears on Sandinista. On Hitsville UK, if I recall

Torchlight is a fabulous song. Would have been a fine addition to Sandinista.

didn't forget that, but I like her album so much, I've tried to forget it.

Great cover, terrific tempo! The Stones should resurrect that one if they get another tour together.

Good cover. Cool video, though she looks like a racoon.

It's so very lonely, you're 2,000 Light Years from home

cool - never heard of her though - is she dead. You guys keep talking about her in the past tense.

Also - based on the discussions on the Alexandra Richards is Playboy thread - she can't be considered attractive because she has no boobs.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

she's really sexy imo... she's got something good in her. ;^) and she's alive.

Joe Strummer and Mick Jones wrote her second album Spirit Of St.Louis. Very surreal pop album.

No, but we're talking three decades ago here. Hard to believe, but Ellen is now almost 60.

Man, I forgot all about Ellen Foley. I was working in a record store and Epic was pushing the crap out of that first album for a few weeks and then unfortunately it tanked.

Here's her last year performing What's A Matter Baby. Think The Small Faces did this one too.
