I actually saw MJ live about 20 years ago at the LA Sports Arena, and I must state for the record, I did not pay for the seats. While no one can deny he puts on a good show, the sound was awful, which was not the norm for that venue.

Great post, trainarollin, but watch out - you're talking about the next President of the United States.

Why does Michael Jackson like twenty eight year olds?

One of the greatest entertainers of my lifetime and a terrible tragedy on many levels. He missed what should have been some of his prime years. He gives me the creeps now. He was a handsome kid.

Why are people saying that his last tour (history tour) was a flop.
He performed some 80 concerts and grossed $165million... in 1997 that is... lower ticket prices.

That's not a flop in my book.

The O2 rumor is just that, a rumor with very little basis in fact. Last year there was the rumor that MJ would do a permanent residency in Las Vegas ala Elvis, Celine Dion and Elton John. That turned out to be a non-starter as well. Fact is, between his nose falling (fell?) off, his legal problems, his financial problems, recent health problems and current musical irrellevance I doubt anyone will see MJ perform again.

It's funny that a rumour has now turned into reality and now 2 weeks down the line he has sold out 50 nights not 30 as mensioned. I am not really a Michael Jackson fan but I love it when people poo poo'd him saying it would not happen and now it has, well done to him that's what I say!

30 nights at the O2. Isn't that something like 600,000 tickets? Are there really 600,000 people in the entire world who would PAY to see this guy?

Well, there are still people willing to pay to see the Stones..confused smiley

I bet Michael Jackson's upcoming shows will have a decent level.
Great voice, great entertainer, and good band behind him!
